Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?
Tennessee is a “direct access” state, so you do not need to see a doctor first in order to start seeing a physical therapist. However, having a referral can be helpful with insurance reimbursement of the services provided and we are also happy to partner with your doctor to get you better.

How long is each visit?
All of your appointments will be one hour and the focus will be completely on you – no double scheduling of patients here!

How does billing work?
We will file all insurance paperwork for you whether we are in or out of network with your insurance.  You will be responsible for paying your deductible and/or coinsurance at the time of your visit or when we send bills approximately twice a month.  You can pay your portion of your visit with cash, credit card, debit card, check, or HSA card.

Will you communicate with my doctor?
Yes!  After your evaluation and throughout your treatment, we will send detailed reports of our treatment and your progress to your physician.  If you were not referred by a doctor we will be happy to send along information at your request to your primary care physician.

When you schedule follow-up appointments with your physician, please let us know so that your therapist can send a report about your physical therapy progress.

Now one question for you . . .

Have we answered all your questions?
Please feel free to call the office if you have any additional questions about your insurance benefits, your first visit, or anything else for that matter. We want you to feel comfortable with all logistics ahead of time so that once you start your therapy you can focus strictly on getting better.
